Ange Postecoglou rejected the idea that he is angry about the recent scrutiny of his tactics, but admitted he is growing weary of people trying to "poke the bear."
Following Tottenham's 6-3 defeat to Liverpool at home on Sunday, Postecoglou faced criticism over his tactical approach, with Jamie Carragher stating that "nobody has ever won anything playing like that." Despite the criticism and Spurs' current 11th-place standing in the league, Postecoglou acknowledged that his response to such a heavy defeat was natural, especially after seeing the impact it had on everyone at the club.
"I wasn't angry. We had just suffered a tough loss, and I take full responsibility for it. I understand how it affects everyone involved at the club, and that weighs on you," Postecoglou said. "But I don’t think many managers walk into interviews with a smile after a defeat."
He added, "It's fair to say I'm getting tired of the same questions and giving the same responses. It feels like people are trying to provoke a reaction, especially after a loss when it's easier to get one."
